SSP Traceability 1.0 is out now – supported by orchideo | easySSP from day one!

The Modelica Association’s Project has released the first official SSP Layered Standard for Traceability (SSP-LS-Traceability) – and easySSP supports it from day one. The new layer extends SSP to exchange simulation traceability and credibility information inside SSP packages, and introduces generic key – value metadata formats for interoperable metadata exchange across tools.

What’s in SSP-LS-Traceability 1.0

  • Layered on SSP: A focused extension for special applications on top of SSP, dedicated to traceability and credibility.

  • Traceability in the package: Standardized ways to include process/credibility information alongside simulation artefacts in the .ssp container and formats.

  • Generic metadata format: Support for exchanging key–value meta data (e.g., aligned with common schemas) to make simulation context portable between tools via the Simulation Resource Metadata (SRMD) format.

Day-one support in easySSP

easySSP operationalizes the new standard immediately so teams can benefit without re-tooling:

  • Workflow-driven capture of context: Guided, customizable workflows capture who/when/why at each step — turning ad-hoc runs into repeatable, documented processes.

  • SRMD & one-click reports: Simulation Resource Metadata (SRMD) is maintained along the process and exported as Markdown/PDF with a single click for reviews and audits.

  • SSP-native packaging: Models, parameters, and traceability metadata travel together in one .ssp container based on open standards (SSP 2.0 / FMI 3.0).

For simulation engineers, this means less manual documentation and more reliable reuse. For managers and quality teams, it means audit-ready evidence from requirement to KPI – a real digital thread of trust for simulation-based decisions.

Get started

  • Read the release announcement: SSP-LS-Traceability v1.0.0 (SSP Project). ssp-standard.org

  • See the v1.0 release on GitHub

  • Open your project in easySSP, run your workflow, and export your .ssp with traceability metadata – you’re ready to exchange credible simulations across tools.

See it live at the Modelica Conference

Meet us at the Modelica & FMI Conference on September 8-10 to see SSP Traceability 1.0 in action with easySSP – including workflow-captured context, SRMD, and one-click report exports.

Among other talks about SSP Traceability, we’ll also present our vendor talk, “Building Trust in Simulation-Based Engineering: Credible Simulations with easySSP and the SSP Standard.” Check the conference agenda for session times and details. Stop by the booth for a hands-on walk-through and Q&A.
